Who We Are

Medicine Hat and District Labour Council supports the principles and policies of the Canadian Labour Congress. We work on advancing economic and social welfare of workers. We encourage all workers to share in the full benefits of union organization. We strive to secure legislation that will safeguard and promote the principles of free collective bargaining and protect the rights of workers.

Local examples of actions include:

  • Labour Day Barbecue
  • Local donations to food banks, shelters, and labour advocate groups
  • Sponsorship of labour scholarship at Medicine Hat College
  • Sponsoring children to attend AFL Kids Camp
  • Remembrance Day memorial
  • December 6 Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women
  • April 28 Day of Mourning
  • Municipalities Matter campaigns.

All organizations affiliated to the Canadian Labour Congress located within a radius of 110km of the City of Medicine Hat, shall be eligible for membership.
